A Samsung device with the model number SM-A725F was spotted on a benchmarking platform, Geekbench. According to the reports the smartphone could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G SoC for its 4G version. According to a recent report, the smartphone will be launched in both 4G and 5G variants. Rumors also suggest that the camera on the phone will be a 64-megapixel primary sensor in a quad rear camera setup.
Samsung’s strategy in launching the Phone
According to the listing on Geekbench, the phone is believed to be Samsung Galaxy A72 4G. The phone is supposed to get a single-core test score of 526 and a multi-core test score of 1623 and is also listed with a Qualcomm processor with ‘atoll’ as the codename, which is associated with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. This is not the first time that Samsung has launched 2 versions of the same device. The company had previously released 4G and 5G versions of the Galaxy A51 and A71 devices. The 4G devices were launched in India, while the 5G devices were taken to Europe and the USA. Therefore, it is interesting to see whether Samsung follows the same policy this year as well.
Expected Specifications of the Phone
The reports claim that the renders of the smartphone were also leaked by a tipster. Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy A72 will have Samsung’s classic Glasstic finish, which is a plastic back panel with an aluminum frame. The phone is also said to feature a 6.7-inch display, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille at the bottom. The phone could also utilize a new camera sensor or improve the post-processing algorithms to improve camera performance.
Galaxy A71 vs Galaxy A72
Last year, Galaxy A71 was released, which featured a quad-camera arrangement. The successor, A72 will allegedly feature the same specifications with an added 8MP telephone lens. Samsung seemed to be pleased with the Galaxy A71’s camera performance, enough that they are ready to take the next step in its evolution by adding lens to the sequel.
