He said that, it was a happy moment because one of the finest actors was receiving this award for 2019. The minister also added that Rajinikanth’s contribution to Indian Cinema is impressive and his work as an actor, screenwriter and producer was iconic.
This makes Rajinikanth the twelfth actor from South India to win this award. The first Dadasaheb Phalke award was presented in the year 1969 and ever since the hunt for good actors who can contribute to cinema continues. Rajinikanth’s victory is not just his, but his fans are equally proud and happy.
