The first season of Mirzapur dropped on Amazon Prime in 2018 and fans have not stopped talking about the Indian thriller.The series follows two brothers who are caught up in a world of drugs, violence and the mafia. Mirzapur season two was filmed in early 2019 executive producer Farhan Akhtar confirmed exclusively to Express.co.uk. Amazon also confirmed the news by releasing a short teaser clip for the new series, announcing the show was ‘coming in 2020’.

The first series of Mirzapur was released in November 2018, so fans were hoping the show would drop in 2019. However, Amazon recently announced the show would drop at sme point in 2020.
Finally a release date has been confirmed as Friday, October 23, 2020.
There were nine episodes in the first series, so it is likely the second season will follow suit.

Mirzapur season 2 new Cast
An official cast list has not been released by Amazon Prime Video but hopefully, the main cast will return, dead or alive.
Actor Ali Fazal who plays one of the shows main characters, Guddu Pandit, confirmed that he would love to return.He added: “I wasn’t surprised when that [Mirzapur] came from Amazon, I would love there to be another series but I don’t know.”
The Indian Express also reported that Fazal said in a statement: “Hopefully early next year. We are hoping to bring you back to the world of Mirzapur.
“So early next year we would, but before season two, I have some film commitments to finish both her and abroad and yeah, then after that we will begin.”It is unclear if Dharam Veer actor Vikrant Massey will be back as Guddu’s brother, Bablu after he was killed in the season finale.
Speaking to India Today online, Massey said: “Honestly, when I started shooting for the web series, I wasn’t informed about my character’s death.“I came to know about it after shooting for 15 days. I was a little taken aback.
“It was a well-written character and I wouldn’t have backed out, but I had no clue about this.”Phantom star Rajesh Tailing may return as Rampant Pandit, a lawyer fighting against local injustice and the father of Guddu and Bablu.
Fingers crossed Divyendu Sharma will return as the evil Munna, the son of mafia boss Akhandanand Tripathi, played by Pankaj Tripathi.Other returning cast members to Mirzapur include Shweta Tripathi as Golu Gupta, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, Harshita Gaur as Dimpi Pandit and Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Bauji.
