SAR uses digital projectors to display physical objects with graphical information.

SONY Launches Spatial Reality Display

The release of a ground-breaking new product called Spatial Reality Display has been confirmed by Sony Electronics. The display utilizes the award-winning Eye-Sensing Light Field Display (ELFD) technology from Sony and was shown to attendees back in January at CES 2020 for the very first time. The display does not require specific VR glasses or headsets to be worn by users and only uses eye-tracking technology to render realistic 3D objects.

Features of Spatial Reality Display

  • The Spatial Reality Display consists of a 15.6-inch 4 K LCD display installed with a high-speed vision sensor that can evaluate the movement of the eyes and the position of the display when walking.
  • A micro-optical lens positioned above the LCD, which can separate the left and right eye screens to create a stereo image, is also provided.
  • SR Display uses real-time rendering algorithms at the highest level, so it needs a powerful PC with at least an Intel Core i7 processor and an RTX 2070 Super GPU from Nvidia.
  • Spatial Reality Display (SR Display) will allow creators in various industries to realize their creativity in stunning 3D displays, from automotive and industrial design to computer graphics (CG) and visual effects (VFX), as well as those in films.

Pricing of Spatial Reality Display

Sony’s suggested retail price of the SR Display is US$ 4,999.99 in terms of pricing. It will be available in November
