Recently, Xiaomi made the MIUI 12 update available for all its eligible devices. The new update is based on Android 10 and has many significant features. Some of them include the dark mode 2.0, a new graphical user interface (GUI), super wallpaper, and new visual effects. Besides these, there are many others too. Further, the company has confirmed the MIUI 13 update as it is already in development. As per their statement, it will be based on Android 11 and will likely come out in 2021.
MIUI 13 – Predicted features
Since the update is still in the early developmental process, it is difficult to predict the exact features that it might include. However, the predictions are made based on Android 11. Some of the likely features are:
- Improved user interface
- Chat bubbles
- Improved Animation Transitions
- New Media Controls
- Improved Dark Mode
- Enhanced Touch sensitivity
- Improved Notification panel for Social media apps, faster Reply and enhanced experience
- Scheduling option for Airplane mode
- Improved Share menu App pinning
- New system theme
- Improved MIUI Always-on Display
- Enhanced Battery Performance and quick charging feature
- New Live Wallpapers
- Improved Navigation Gestures
- Scrolling screenshot feature
Reportedly, Xiaomi will also introduce a new Power Off animation. Further, during a Q&A session, the company dropped hints that users will be able to create their own Super Wallpapers will the necessary tools. Additionally, users may also be able to conduct blood tests with the Health app and control the power on and off feature with their eye movements.
MIUI 13 – Estimated release date
An official statement confirmed that the new version is already in its early stages of development. Thus, it is likely to release in early 2021. However, the exact release date is unknown. Even though a 2021 release is expected, the company may only release a Beta version by then. That version will only be available to the developers to test and develop new apps that are compatible with the same. The stable version might come out in June 2021.

So far, it has been confirmed that Xiaomi devices that came with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box will be able to receive the upcoming MIUI 13 update. The list of eligible devices are as follows:

- POCO series: F1 & X2
- Mi 10 series: Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro
- Redmi 6 series s: Redmi 6, 6 Pro, and 6A
- Note 8 series: Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro
- Redmi 5 series: Redmi 5/5A
- Note 5 series: Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro
- Redmi Note 4
- Note 10 series: Mi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro
- Redmi Y series: Redmi Y1, Y1 Lite, and Y2
- K20 series: Redmi K20 and K20 Pro
- Redmi 4
- Mi Mix 2
- Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8, and Redmi 8A
